Historical consultancy and advice

Howard Giles spent years ensuring English Heritage events were as accurate as possible. In 2000 he did the same for the groundbreaking live re-enactment of The Battle of Orgreave for Channel 4 and in subsequent filming projects. He can do the same for you.

If you are producing a historical documentary or film, you need sound historical advice, particularly where producing a “niche” programme or series. Avoid embarrassing authenticity gaffes through insufficient background research. Make it look right. We strongly believe that if something is worth doing. It is worth doing right, and we can ensure this relatively easily through the depth of historical expertise we enjoy.

We specialise in pre-21st Century western history, particularly the military, from the bronze age onwards but are extremely flexible. We can usually offer in-house expertise, or if need be source it elsewhere.  We can write, script, and co-ordinate the action on set. Try us and see.

Don't forget that with his background as a military historian Howard Giles can script and narrate sequences - or even whole programmes - as appropriate.
