We know who can be relied upon to provide the best service at the best possible price. Our suppliers are used to working with us and our other performers, so there's usually a built-in team spirit that helps improve the entire production. This really makes a difference and is usually far more effective (cost wise and in terms of efficiency) than assembling a team of strangers that have to start from scratch. Try us and see!  Our designers can usually produce specialist props to your specifications - for instance, we supplied two pyrotechnic-firing C18th style naval cannon for Press Ganged, the reality TV programme.

Period clothing, uniform, armour, equipment, weaponry...and food!

Usually you don't have to hire in all this - our specialist extras usually arrive "ready for action", complete with uniform/clothing, weaponry/other kit, or alternatively, can quickly adapt to your wardrobe requirements if wished.

Although Historical Film Services isn't a costume hire agency, if for some reason your needs couldn't be met by our specialist extras in existing kit, we can by using our wide network of contacts save you time and effort by sourcing clothing, equipment and weaponry, including machine guns and even pieces of artillery or tanks. We specialise in the military through the ages but have also supplied civilian costume when asked to do so. We meet requirements for additional kit by either hiring in from an existing source or by producing new garments and/or armour and weapons to order. So rather than spend time "reinventing the wheel", try us, as the chances are that we'd save your production time, effort and money. Then place this clothing & equipment on our specialist extras and you'll immediately notice how good it looks, as they can usually safely walk, talk and if necessary fight "in period" with little or no additional training, with often only a brief practice required before filming commences.

We can also arrange historically-accurate period food, ready to eat.
