Dead Man Weds

October 2004: Filming the final episode of Dead Man Weds, the Granada comedy drama written by and starring Dave Spikey, also starring Johnny Vegas, Michael Brandon and Keith Barron. We carefully sourced over 50 top quality English Civil War soldiers (including mounted troopers, horses and a cannon), uniform and weaponry on behalf of Red Productions and co-ordinated them on set. Over several days filming we also supplied period costume for key actors (Michael Brandon being pictured here in a Roundhead officer's uniform to left of the flag bearer).

Our specialist extras played both sides in the battle, utilising appropriate changes of kit including reversible blue or red coats. This effectively doubled the numbers of soldiers that could appear, in turn CGI'd up to hundreds.

Why spend a fortune on hiring expensive historical costumes and waste time training extras when our specialist extras can often come ready clothed and schooled in the etiquette (or in this case, soldiers' drill and combat techniques) of the era represented?
