Sean George and Steve Mallett as guards in Mary, Queen of Scots. Historical Film Services* supplied a number specialist extras for all six episodes of the none too serious BBC1 series Historyonics, often regularly cast during the series.
Despite one or two truly surreal comedy sequences, Mary, Queen of Scots proved rather different from the other programmes in the series, on the whole being much darker than the usual light-hearted approach.
On 7 December 2004 writer and presenter Nick Knowles received a Royal Television Award for the series, screened during the Spring.
