Historyonics - Mary, Queen of Scots

Howard Giles as an English lord in Mary, Queen of Scots. Historical Film Services* supplied a number specialist extras for all six episodes of the none too serious BBC 1 series Historyonics, often regularly cast during the series. On 7 December 2004 writer and presenter Nick Knowles received a Royal Television Award for the series, screened during the Spring.

Despite one or two truly surreal comedy sequences, Mary, Queen of Scots proved rather different from the other programmes in the series, on the whole being much darker than the usual light-hearted approach.
