Historyonics - Guy Fawkes

Five of the Militia (all specialist extras supplied by Historical Film Services*) stand ready to attack the plotters' final refuge. Left to right; Howard Giles, Simon Kirk, Gary Mehrtens, Nigel Bruen and Jonathan Keeling. As Simon, Gary and Nigel also played plotters (part of the programme's running gag is that a small number of actors play most of the roles) they achieve the impossible by fighting themselves in the final edited version of the shootout between plotters and militia!

Throughout the filming of this pilot episode and forthcoming prime time, none too serious BBC 1 series Historyonics, Historical Film Services sourced specialist walk-ons, supporting artistes and re-enactors as required, as well as helping to ensure that clothing, uniforms and weaponry were as accurate as possible.

On 7 December 2004 writer and presenter Nick Knowles received a Royal Television Award for the series, screened during the Spring.
