SS Obersturmfurher Michael Wittmann's Tiger Tank awaits the enemy near Villers-Bocage in Normandy, 13 June 1944. In one of the most famous actions of the campaign, the celebrated Eastern Front tank ace attacked and severely mauled a column of advancing British armour and infantry with his single tank, driving them back through the village with great loss.
Historical Film Services* arranged a number of combat and other reconstructions, sourcing specialist re-enactors, armoured vehicle owners and firearms suppliers. We acted as military co-ordinators on set and also assisted with sourcing appropriate locations.
Our thanks to the WWII LHA, Royal Norfolks, Vickers Machine Gunners Society, Plus Film Services and Hire & Fire.
